A sweet, soft fruit with a bumpy green skin and creamy white flesh filled with black seeds.  

  • Atis (ah-TIS) – The Filipino name for sugar apple.  
  • Atis tastes very sweet and creamy, almost like custard. The flesh is soft and grainy, and you spit out the shiny black seeds while eating.  
  • Filipinos eat atis fresh β€” just break it open with your hands, scoop out the sections, and enjoy.  
  • Atis is usually in season from August to October in the Philippines.  
  • It’s rich in vitamin C, which helps keep your immune system strong.
