Dragon Fruit (Pitaya)  

A bright pink fruit with green scales and white or red speckled flesh dotted with tiny black seeds.  

  • Pitaya (pee-TAH-yah) – The Spanish name used in the Philippines.  

Dragon fruit is mildly sweet, juicy, and crunchy (thanks to the tiny seeds).  

  • Filipinos chill dragon fruit, slice it open, and scoop the flesh with a spoon.  

Best from July to October.  

It’s packed with vitamin C and antioxidants for glowing skin.
