  • Mabolo (mah-BO-loh) – Also known as the velvet apple or kamagong fruit in the Philippines.  
  • The inside has a soft, almost buttery texture and rich sweetness, with a mild aroma that can be strong when overripe. The skin is fuzzy and often peeled before eating.  
  • Many eat it fresh when fully ripe, scooping out the flesh. It’s also used in jams or preserved for spreading on toast.
