Santol

A round fruit with a thick yellowish rind and sour-sweet white pulp.  

  • Santol (sahn-TOL) – The Filipino name for this tropical fruit, also called cotton fruit.  
  • Santol is sour when unripe and sweet-tart when fully ripe.  
  • Eaten fresh with salt, or cooked into a savory-sour dish called sinantolan.  
  • Season is June to August.  
  • Santol is high in vitamin C and dietary fiber.
